They say a watched pot never boils; apparently the same is
true for Boston and rolling over. He rolled over once a few weeks ago (see below), so we knew he could do it, but he wouldn’t. Then tonight, I
laid him down on his tummy and turned around to help Riley. We were both
distracted for about 30 seconds and when I turned around Boston was on his
back. Realizing there was only one way that could have happened, we put him
back on his belly and pretended that we weren’t watching/holding our breath. It
worked like a charm. A few seconds later he rolled over! We were even able to
catch the evening’s third attempt on camera, even though Boston was sick of the
rolling game and cried the whole time (he was happy again once he had rolled
onto his back and saw how excited Riley and I were J).

Tonight Boston rolled over for the first time, but shush- we don’t talk about it. Riley and I gave him a bath and were putting lotion on him and getting him dressed. In the middle of all this I let Riley know (not very subtlety) that I could finish, while he took a shower because he had just finished working out. So off Riley went to the shower, and I flipped Boston onto his tummy to put lotion on his back. Then flop, in the blink of an eye, Boston had rolled over onto his back! Saying I got crazy excited, would be an understatement! The problem, Riley was totally bummed he had missed it and the little stinker wouldn’t do it again. It was an amazing and slightly traumatic night all in one, so we don’t talk about it.
