Boat, Plane, Train (tram), and Taxi

Every year my family goes on a camping/rafting trip in Idaho with my Dad’s family. This year, Boston and I were able to fly up early and also spend some time with my Mom’s side. We got to Salt Lake City just in time for my cousin Camille’s wedding reception.
After that, we had a few days to hang out in Brigham City. I got to take Boston to one of the pools I worked at in high school (it is still my favorite place to swim J), where he had lots of fun with Tallon, Bella and Melissa.

We also had a chance to see some of the girls I grew up with. It was a lot of fun and totally crazy with all of the kids running/crawling around. So glad we were able to get together!
Love this picture! It is tricky to get that many
kids and their moms to look at the camera
Of course, there were also a few good naps involved. Boston seems to sleep best when he has someone to snuggle with.
We picked Riley up at the Idaho Falls Airport and headed out for Boston’s first trip to the farm and to meet his great grandma and grandpa Andersen.
Then it was on to Challis, for some rafting, swimming and camping with the rest of the Andersens. Boston wasn’t tall enough to cause much trouble in the camper trailer, but he did try to get in on a marshmallow-gun fight, and managed to sneak his first malino cookie.

After a few days of fun, we flew back to Las Vegas, where Boston rode the tram and also went in a taxi for the first time.

It was a great trip and we are already looking forward to next year!

My Little Shadow

As part of my Mother’s Day surprise, Boston decided to take off crawling. After about a day of that, he started pulling himself up on things. Now nothing is safe. He has also started hunting me down. From doing dishes to moving on laundry or even going to the bathroom, I soon hear a little shuffle and a drool covered face comes around the corner to track me down. I’m sure it will soon get old, but for now, I love it and think it is way cute.

Boston's Room

Boston’s room has been finished and the pictures have been taken and ready to post for quite awhile- I just haven’t done it. So…. here it is:

The argyle wall is my favorite part, and definitely took the most work. I decided I wanted argyle after seeing a picture on pinterest. But, Riley shut the picture I saw down saying it was a bit girly and would be way too much work. I started looking for wallpaper, and couldn’t find what I wanted. Once Riley realized I wasn’t going to give up and trade in argyle for a sports theme, he stepped in and found/figured out how to do this pattern. My awesome mother and father in-law then came down for a weekend to help us, and I LOVE how it turned out.

The picture with Boston’s stats is based off another idea from pinterest, that Riley was able to tweak and customize to look the way I wanted it. Then we printed it as a big picture and modge-podged it onto a canvas.
Riley’s awesome aunt made the vinyl smiles saying for me, and we put it on a canvas painted with paint we had left over from some of the other rooms in our house.
My awesome aunt cut out the letters of Boston’s name for us and my niece and I painted them with paint left over from the argyle wall.

There you have it. I'm not usually a big decorator, but I really enjoyed finding and making things for Boston's room. Now that it is finished, I love the way it turned out and it makes me happy just to be in there.
