January Phone Pics and Happy Feet

A day of shopping can wear a guy out.
He slept through an entire trip to Winco.

He loves cereal lately (he fits right in in the family), but he likes to get it himself,
even if his arm is barely long enough to reach into the box :)

I think he was trying to hide in the corner after we had to hold him down for the doctor to look at his ears and throat.

A Nice Day for a Hike

The weather in Vegas has been awesome lately, so we decided to take advantage of it and go for a hike. We met some friends out at Calico Basin, and headed out. We don't have a fancy hiking backpack, and Boston has outgrown the pack we did have for him. So, we let him walk and carried him (when he would let us). Boston had to make sure he stepped on every rock, got a good handful of dirt every couple of feet, and had tons of fun along the way :).

After the hike Riley somehow ended up in the car with most of the kids. Again the pictures stink (I can't see the display on my phone in the sun, so I just point at something and hope I get a decent pic), but there are 4 kids in there with him. There is a good chance that the kids liked playing in the car more than, or at least as much as, the hike.

Runnin' Rebels!

Riley loves all sporting events, and Boston's favorite word lately is "ball" (I probably hear it a million times a day and I think he can spot a hidden ball from 100 yards away). So when Riley's work was giving away free tickets to a UNLV basket ball game, we decided to get decked out in our Rebel gear and take Boston to his first college basketball game. Boston loved it! He wasn't sure about things as we were walking in, and wanted to run around like a crazy man before the game started. But as soon as the game got going, he got pretty excited. He kept saying "ball, ball, ball" and pointing to the court. It was pretty cute. Because the game didn't start until bedtime, Boston was pretty worn out by the end of the first half. When we realized he was sitting still and starting to snuggle, we figured it was time to head home. UNLV won, so we could all go home happy :).

15 Month Stats

At 15 months old Boston weighs 23 pounds 6 ounces and is 31 inches tall. He has 13 teeth, and 3 others coming in.

He is getting quite the vocabulary. I probably hear "ball" and "mom" about a million times every day, but he also says "thank you" almost anytime you give him something (even if he doesn't want it, or is crying :)). A few of my other favorites are "get down", "oh no", "oh yeah", "woot woo," and "Jesus" or "hi Jesus" whenever he sees a picture of Jesus. He also knows lots of animal sounds, but after too many questions, everything turns into a horse or monkey. And he says "woof, woof" whenever he hears the neighbors dogs barking.

He is very determined, especially when he decides he wants a certain food. First he wanted Fruit Loops all the time, then he wanted an orange every five minutes, now he is on a cheese kick and he gets really excited to share a yogurt when Riley gets home from work.

He loves to play in the pantry, to hide things (decorations, dishes, toys, ect) in the seat of his toy car, and will drag a laundry basket around all day collecting all kinds of treasures. He is also a dancing fool and starts bopping anytime any kind of music comes on (even when it is just me singing).

He is also loves to snuggle his sock monkey, and we usually have to bring a blanket or two with us wherever we go.
