July Phone Pics

July was a crazy/busy/fun month. Here are some of the random pictures from my phone- Enjoy!

I saw this idea online- dump a bunch of crayons in an old diaper box, then let your toddler get in and color the box. Genius! This kept Boston entertained for quite awhile.

He loved it... possibly a bit too much, he had a huge meltdown when we made him let go of it, just for a few seconds to get in his carseat. It was all good, as soon as he got it back.

24 Weeks!

Since Boston looks like a mini Riley with blond hair, I have to take what I can get.
That being said, it was decided that Boston gets this super attractive face from me :-).

Boston loves jumping on his bed. I usually know he is awake because I can hear him bouncing :-).

Both of my Boys are also big fans of baseball. Riley made Boston a tee out of a few toys and a pool noodle (quite cleaver), so they could play ball in the living room.

E-Town for the 24th

After the wedding, Boston and I decided to head to Enterprise instead of going home. We spent the week working on things for the Enterprise reception, playing outside, and letting grandma and grandpa spoil Boston rotten.

To celebrate Pioneer Day, the 24th is a day full of fun in Enterprise. I started the day bright and early, with the 5k Enterprise Fun Run. I finished in just under a half hour, which I decided is pretty good for a 26 weeks pregnant. I also got my first Enterprise t-shirt, which of course made Riley super proud.

Up next was the parade. Boston had lots of fun watching the floats and cars go by, but wouldn't pick up the candy! Once he had a piece for each hand, he was done. He and his cousin Brooklyn were probably the only two kids along the parade route, just standing there surrounded by candy!

 After that it was time for Boston's first race. He was a little confused about when to go, but once he did he was off! He didn't win, but he was really excited about the candy he got at the finish line.

That weekend Riley came up and we headed to the Enterprise Rodeo. The fun started with a chicken chase. They basically set a few chickens free in the arena, and the kids run wild. The kids who catch the chickens, get to keep them. Boston was one of the littlest kids out there, so he didn't even get close to any of the chickens, but he was grinning from ear to ear, laughing and running as fast as he could until the last chicken was caught. He then spotted a princess! It was super cute how excited he got, and she even stopped for a picture :).

Wedding Weekend

This summer Riley's little brother Chance got married. The wedding was on a Saturday in northern Utah, and there was a rehearsal the Friday before, so we decided to get a hotel room and spend a few days in the Salt Lake area. We had Friday to take care of last minute wedding stuff, and the ceremony wasn't until Saturday evening, which meant we had most of the day to play. Cabelas was having a special kids day, where they had a "pond" set up outside stocked with fish for the kids to catch. After they caught a fish, they would cut it, clean it, and cook it right there so the kids could eat their catch. Boston loved it! He kept saying "fish, I catch it, I eat it." He jumped up and down and giggled every time one of his cousins caught one. Then Riley helped him catch a fish of his own and he was crazy excited. He even sat still long enough to try a bite or two after they cooked it. After that, we moved the party inside the store to see the bears and try a shooting game ("I shoot it"). I'm not sure who had more fun, Riley or Boston :-).

After a quick trip to the hotel pool, it was time for the wedding. Since daddy, uncle Kody and Eric all had them on, Boston didn't even throw a fit about wearing a tie. It was a beautiful ceremony and thanks to a smart mama who packed a bag full of bribery (candy), Boston was really good (though not to happy to pose for pictures).

The reception was lots of fun with yummy food and a fun photo booth. But since he had been too busy playing to take a nap, after a few hours Boston's was done. I don't think he smiled in a single picture! Thanks to an uncle who happened to have a suit coat pocket full of bouncy balls, and cousins who were happy to give Boston a new one every time his got lost, we kept playing until the party was over. Then we changed Boston into his pajamas and he crashed hard on the way back to the hotel.

Overall it was a great weekend, and we are so happy for Chance and Britt!!

29 and Feeling Fine... Riley, not so Much

My birthday was a bit rough this year, but worth documenting. The night before, Riley said he and Boston needed to "go for a drive" and they came home with flowers. I really think the only thing better than getting flowers, is having a toddler walk in with them and tell you "Lobe you mommy". Totally melted my heart!

A few hours later Riley started having some serious nausea and stomach pain (while describing his symptoms, he asked me if I thought he was pregnant... I must say, the symptoms were right on). On my birthday, he was still feeling crummy, but went to work anyway. We had planned to meet up for lunch (free birthday subs at firehouse-woohoo). Riley ended up being late, and didn't want any food, so Boston and I had a sandwich... and started to worry. Riley was really sick by the time he got home, so Boston and I spent the rest of my birthday at Walgreens shopping for antacids, crackers and sprite (Riley again couldn't handle real food).

After a trip to urgent care the next morning, we found out Riley likely had a stomach ulcer, but we would have to wait for some tests and go see a specialist to find out for sure. A few weeks later, after blood work, an ultrasound and an endoscopy, the specialist confirmed it was an ulcer causing all the trouble. Luckily, the medicine he is on seems to be helping. Hopefully, in a few months the ulcer will be gone, and never come back (fingers crossed).

A few weeks later, Riley and I went to see Zarkana at Aria as a belated birthday celebration. It was amazing!

4th of July!

This year Riley took the day off and our Independence Day celebration started bright and early with a trip to the Summerlin Patriotic Parade. Even at 9am it was 100+ degrees outside, so we didn't stay long. But, Boston had lots of fun waving his flag and loved watching the fun cars and giant balloons go by.

Next we headed to Wet n Wild to cool off. Boston had been a bit of a wimp about the water and slides, so I wasn't expecting to do much more than the lazy river. But everything is more fun with dad! Boston went down the slides (yelled "wee" all the way down, then said "again, again" after each time), splashed in the kid area, and even liked playing in the wave pool. It was so cute listening to him squeal and giggle, my cheeks hurt from smiling by the time we left :-).
After a pit stop at home for nap time, we headed to a friends house for a bbq and to watch the fireworks. We all came home sleepy and happy. It was a fantastic day with our little family :-).
